Why do people give primacy to the misty and evanescent world of their interior emotional minds, over a more holistic sentience? Sentience is literally “The quality of being able to experience feelings” (dictionary.cambidge.org) and “feelings” can mean emotions or bodily sensations. Sciencedirect.com points out that sentience “requires a level of awareness and cognitive ability,” so, in practical terms, then, it is indivisible from consciousness: we exist through though our bodies.
